If I told you Jack in the Box owns Qdoba, would you believe me?

Jack in the Box did not create Qdoba, nope, it actually bought the Mexican chain for $45 million in 2003.

To go back to my original question, yes, I would be technically lying if I told you Jack in the Box owns Qdoba.

They did own Qdoba, but now the chain is owned by Apollo Management group who bought the entire chain in 2017 for a total of $305 million.

So if I told you Jack in the Box made $260 million profit taking into account only the purchase and selling price of the chain, that would be the truth, not a lie.

The chain must have done well under Jack in the Box’s leadership and under the current Apollo company leadership, since Qdoba is currently at #257 in the franchise 500.

Being in the Franchise 500 at any number is very good for the company, and for a franchise in general.

qdoba survey

The first Qdoba opened in Denver Colorado, and the concept was to bring San Francisco California style burritos to the mountainous region where they weren’t used to having easy access to burritos everyday.

It is a very new chain, founded in 1995, and its success was so paramount it was able to start franchising only two years later in 1997.

It was purchased by Jack in the Box company as an acquisition in 2003.

Coincidentally, Jack in the Box has a survey similar to QdobaListens, and when you eat at Jack in the Box, you can take the JackListens survey to get 2 free tacos.

After it was bought by Jack in the Box in 2003 and the acquisition finalized, Qdoba’s restaurant count was around 700 restaurants, with a presence in every state but 3.

  1. I tried to take your survey but the link says page has timed out. Couldn’t take the survey but the service was great at the Qdoba in West Allis, WI

  2. Host : TM1070
    Drawer 1

I am disabled person and first time I visit your Qdoba. Here I wish to tell you that the customer service is really great. The food was my choice and I think I will not go any Mexican restaurants as I like the food and hospitality at Qdoba 6208 196th st. SW STE
LYNNWOOD WA 98036 thanks to all staff

  3. Went to Qdoba in Peabody, MA and was reminded why I don’t go there anymore. No one smiles and when I am paying $8 for a burrito I expect $8 worth of food which I was given 8 pieces of chicken in my burrito with a massive clump of sour cream. Then when I went to pay I was not told the total. And they spoke in a different language the whole time

  4. I visit quite often, and Bryan , Terrence and Michael are always great as a team even with the new girl tonight, they all made my experience tonight great and I brought my family! Thank you guys for holding such great standards! This is the Best Qdoba I’ve been too)

  5. Got two bowls, food was great, Mss Ashley prepared the bowls, she always is curtious with a smile, like wise Mr David they both are a great representation for Qdoda.

  6. J’ai la possibilité de vous en transférer les sites pour d’autres d’échantillons à propos de cet idée. Joignez moi ici!

  7. Food was good, woman was awful. There was a young man there named Max who was amazing. Super nice and welcoming. Then it looked to be the manager started scolding him about something in front of the other customers. Very unprofessional. She then snapped at me because I was pointing to one of the vegetables and she freaked out and said “don’t reach over the counter”. Will never return to this restaurant. I will go to the other location.

  8. Was very disappointed at SeaTac Airport location. I have been going there for years and recieved a tortilla that was overcooked, brown and cracking on my breakfast burrito. I took my item to go as alway,s and discovered it upon arriving to my gate. It was a mess with the tortilla cracking and items faling out.

  9. We went there today for lunch ,we had burrito steak with chicken and burrito ground beef and two waters in a plastic cup . We were charged $24.17 .I questioned the price twice as I looked at the prices on the board. I have never been charged for water before and I will not return or tell my friends to go there! Tried calling but always busy.

  10. Been going to the same location in Livonia, MI, for years, with great service, yesterday I was very disappointed! They ran out of onions and bacon, when I asked if there were more onions in house, they said it was in the salsa. Burrito bowl doesn’t taste the same without the right ingredients.!! Girl at the register had long fake nails and polish, a health code violation and the place was dirty! Gross! When I asked for a different bowl of rice, because there was something foreign in it, the staff gave me a bit of a hassle. Not satisfied with my recent visit.

  11. Please fix the survey so that you don’t have to go almost the next day to get your free chips and salsa. You have 3 days to take he survey from your visit and then 7 days to use the free offer from the visit. Why not just offer nothing if that is how you operate as I don’t know too many people that will return to same restaurant that often in 1 week so you are basically trying to cater to the people that will give good reviews and return often.

  12. I’ve never been one who really cared much just for chips and dip but my granddaughter got me to try your chips and queso and I fell in love so now anytime I pass a Qdoba and I want to snack I grab a set. Best chips and queso ever
