Janet Evanovich is one of my favorite authors. Her books are fun to read, and filled with fast paced humor, action, adventure and enough hints of romance to keep things interesting.
I like her later books even better than her earlier ones, and have not even (yet) read any of her earlier romance novels.
I was so surprised to learn the other day when reading her “How to Write” book that she is 75 years old. She looks so good and young on her book covers, and her writing is so relatable that I had always assumed she was closer in age to me than to 75.
She does admit to getting a face-lift and that it is one of the best things she has ever done, so maybe that helped as well!
Favorite Evanovich Series
My personal favorite is her Fox and O’Hare series, and I’m so happy she just came out with a new one co-written by her husband called The Big Kahuna for 2019.
Can’t wait to read it and let me know if you already have in the comments below.
All her books make you feel like you could be the main character, and even when you feel like they don’t fit into your life, you can easily see all her characters as real people who you’d want to get lunch with or go on a wild bounty hunter chase with.
One of the unrealistic parts of her books she manages to make feel realistic, are putting her heroes in work where they automatically get paired with insanely attractive men to do their jobs. This is not common in real life as far as I’m aware of, but she makes it very realistic with her writing.
If you know of any jobs where this is common, please comment below to let me know.
